Your City. Your City Hall. Your Day.

from 11am to 6pm

Dear Frankfurt Residents,

This year’s Open House Day at the Frankfurt Römer is dedicated to the theme of democracy. But democracy is not something we can take for granted — it must be consciously lived and actively protected. Around the world, democratic values are in retreat, and that rightfully concerns us, as we benefit from the freedoms a democratic society offers.

Democracy thrives on discussion and debate in the pursuit of the best path for our society. Democratic processes can be demanding and not always easy to understand at first. But here in Frankfurt’s local politics and especially on May 17 at the Open House Day in the Römer, you can experience democracy quite literally at your doorstep and gain a deeper understanding of it.

Come to the Römer, meet your city councillors, representatives from the local advisory councils, and members of the city executive. Talk to us about your questions concerning Frankfurt politics. Visit our Plenary Hall and meeting rooms, meet the political groups and find out more about the work of the city’s various departments — they are the ones turning democratic decisions into real action in our city.

Democracy thrives on political awareness and participation.
It’s your city, it’s your city hall, it’s your day.

We cordially invite you and look forward to welcoming you.
